It’s a Christmas Deirdre Butler will certainly never forget after winning an incredible €100,000 at the weekend in the hugely exciting Galway Rape Crisis Centre fundraiser win100grand.ie.
Deirdre, from Rahoon, is a teacher by profession and was the first ticket out of the drum at the closing ceremony at GRCC Headquarters on Saturday night.
“I just want to thank everybody who supported us and bought tickets since we launched the fundraiser. ” said Cathy Connolly, Executive Director, Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
Proceeds from the draw are going towards a new home for the Galway Rape Crisis Centre in the Claddagh in Galway. The building is expected to open in May 2025.
